Benefits of a Line of Credit
My family has operated numerous small businesses over the last thirty years. To lead off with, we were lucky enough to receive a traditional loan to initially set up the various businesses we have run. These loans required weeks of effort, and each time we had to offer our home and vehicles as collateral. Over time, this has caused extensive stress for our family. Until recently, we did not know that there was an smoother way to borrow money. Throughout the years, we had many different businesses, but many of these were in the same market. In other words, we operated numerous motels over the last thirty years. With these businesses, we applied the same limited liability corporation.
Because the business stayed the same, we could have been approved for a small business line of credit. For the last fifteen years, we have had the same business, and five years ago we finally received an unsecured business credit line. This has made the last five years extremely simple for us. Similar to any business, we face ups and downs. During the slower periods, if our sales decrease more than usual and it is difficult to pay our suppliers, we have a secondary source of funds. We can use the line to obtain funds from the bank. We can directly use these funds to pay off our supplier. Once business accelerates, we can repay the borrowed amount to the bank.
We were consistent with our repayments for the past five years, so the bank had continuously raised our borrowing amount. It is noted that without the small business line of credit, our business would not have survived the last five years. Luckily, if we were not able to solidify this additional resource of funds, we were also qualified to accept a merchant advance. This is another good way to receive funding. We receive an amount from the lender, and we can use these funds for anything we want. The payment is automatic, so we do not have to keep track of a repayment agenda. If a credit line is not an option for your business, then look into a merchant advance. It is simple to use and a great asset for your business.
